Heart & Seoul

Korea has always been one of the top countries on my travel list since ten years ago. But now, the Korea bucket list is finally emptying out!

I travelled with my friend who's been to Korea many times. She took me around Seoul, showed me the ropes, became my photographer, translator, ate grilled pork belly with me (she's a vegetarian), and put up with me kekeke. I'm very thankful for her, and I'll treat her to all the greens she can eat LOL.

We arrived in Korea and it was cold! I believe it was in the low 40's. It felt nice at first, but then I started to shake and shiver. I thought the weather wouldn't be that chilly, especially during the daytime. Wrong assumption. I didn't bring enough warm clothes. Luckily, it's not difficult to find inexpensive, quality clothes in Korea. I was able to buy as much warm clothing as my heart and body desired (and needed). So, layers on top of layers. I looked chubby. Though, the cold was so good for my skin.

The shopping district of Seoul is Myeongdong. This place is pretty neat! All the stores are so unique and inventive with their exterior appearance. I didn't get much pics because I was taking it all in. And of course, I was shopping. There were so much skin care stores, I didn't know which one to pick.

Headed to an area in Gangnam called Garosugil to check out a friend's shop. I noticed that this place is niice! Nothing less from the ritzy district of Seoul. You can certainly tell by all the Mercedes, BMWs, and Audis rolling around.

Bike riding along the Hangang (Han River) was probably the most eventful part of my trip to Korea. The food, Namsan Tower and wearing a Hanbok were some of my faves, but bike riding near the Hangang takes the cake!

Hanbok Venture

Hanbok Venture

Such an experience to wear a Hanbok (Korean traditional dress), and not just to try it on, but to wear it in the city LOL. My friend and I rented Hanboks to use for our Gyeongbok Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village visit. It was fun, yet a struggle. First, I couldn't wear the Hanbok I initially picked out because it was too long for me. That scenario went on after three Hanbok fittings till I finally found one that fit. Then, the clouds were abundant that day, and so, rain poured. It was around 45 degrees Fahrenheit while running around in these dresses, while raining, and while trying to take pics. Mind you, these dresses are light and thin. Needless to say, we were freezing our asses off. I'm surprised it didn't snow kekeke. However, besides the distress, the beautiful sight of the palace and village with our Hanboks on made it all worth while. You can tell from the pics :p
