We had to! We just had to! We were in Frankfurt, it’s the same distance as Berlin, and it’s only a 4-hour train ride. A first-class 4-hour train ride! And so we did. We went to Paris! Cue the French accordion tune!
Atis and I were contemplating whether to go to Paris or not. It would mean more traveling in a short period of time. I didn’t think our bodies could handle. But, what the heck, we’re not that old. We’re only 30 lol.
We only stayed for 9-hours. I wish we stayed longer and checked-in a hotel. But with our Germany schedule packed, we were limited. Next time definitely!
Our starting point was at Trocadéro, behind Palais de Chaillot. So at first, all you see is a wall, a barricade, which is one of Palais de Chaillot’s “wings”. Then you start walking towards the light, which the building’s terrace gives off. And from there, it’s like an ascension to the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. The epitome of a literal revelation. If you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about. It was awesome! Like a dream come true. Like really, I felt like I was in a dream, but I wasn’t. I’m in Paris!
Weather forecast predicted rain, but thankfully, it did not. It was cloudy at most. And not as cold as Germany. Parisians were wearing bulky jackets and coats, while Atis just wore his flannel and I had to take off my thermals. I guess Germany prepared us.
I took pictures at ALL angles. Atis was getting tired of it lol. But seriously, disclaimer, prepare to get bombarded with Eiffel Tower pics.
Can you feel my excitement?
Ladurée in Champs Elysées
We went to the famous Ladurée bakery in Champs Elysées. The bakery was also a restaurant. Thank goodness, because we were starving. I love macarons, but I wanted real food.
French Onion Soup and Foie Gras. We didn’t really know how to eat the foie gras lol.
This omelette was so soft 😋
My macaron drink that was super strong 😵
After lunch, we just booked it to the places we wanted to see; our 9 hours was ticking. Atis and I had a good exercise that day.
I got souvenirs 🙃
Arc de Triomphe
The potential peril we went through for this shot. We were right in the middle of traffic. Worth it!
The details and intricacy of this monument, inside and out, was just exquisite.
The Louvre Museum
We didn’t go inside, because 9 hours.
Atis is on the brink of madness lol
Sacré-Cœur / Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris
Last stop was this gorgeous church that sat on a hill, a very steep hill.
View overlooking the city of Paris
One thing I didn’t like, actually hated, about the city was that it smelled of cigarettes. I would say 1 in 10 people smoked there, and walked and smoked at the same time. So I’d be smelling that fucking cancer-inducing stank while strolling in the city. Noob tip: wear a mask if you’re prone to stank.
That’s all folks! Will most certainly vacay again in Paris, for at least a week next time, and during a vibrant season. Truly a beautiful city. More little snippets on my Instagram highlights!
